We are thrilled to be able to launch our full Growing up in Kinship Care report. We’re proud to say this is the first research of its kind in the UK focused on the outcomes of young people who’ve grown up in kinship care into adulthood.
The findings add another key layer of our understanding of kinship care, and will drive our work in transforming support for children in kinship care and their carers. We’re extremely grateful to the young people and kinship carers who shared their experiences with us, the Paul Hamlyn Foundation for supporting the research and the authors of the report. We’d also like to thank the many people across the sector who gave their comments on early versions of the research.

Understanding young people’s experiences is central to how we shape kinship care in the future. We’re grateful to the Tunstall Jubilee Foundation and National Lottery Awards for All programme for funding another aspect of our work with young people. Our film, Kinship Care Matters, explores young people’s experiences. Watch it here:
