Becoming a kinship carer affects people financially and many families fall into poverty. Little is known about what financial support is available for kinship carers from their local authorities.
At Kinship we believe that all kinship carers should receive an allowance, but we are aware that very few carers do.
This very short survey has been designed to allow us to build a picture of how kinship carers are being financially supported across England and Wales. Knowing this will allow us to continue to campaign for fair financial support for all kinship carers. This will include talking to the media.
If you are a kinship foster carer, connected persons foster carer or a family and friends foster carer you do not need to respond to this survey as you are legally entitled to a fostering allowance.
This survey is confidential.
Thank you for taking the time to fill out the survey and thanky ou for al of the amazing work you do to support your family.
