‘Grandparents Plus is there for you’

Take some time for you
Our self-care for kinship carers masterclass in London last week was a huge success. Kinship carers spent the day hearing about the unique challenges of raising kinship children, and why stress management and taking time to care for yourself is so important. They left with practical tips to help ‘give your children the best of you, not just what’s left of you.’ If you’re interested in coming along, our next masterclass in in Manchester on 7th June. Places are limited, so book now.

It’s time for your child to have their say
Current research on kinship care is lacking the opinions of children, which is something Paul Shuttleworth, a PhD researcher from Sussex University, wants to change. He’s gathering children’s views to better inform government policy and professional practice, and looking for young people, aged 5-16, to take part in his study. If you think your children have important things to say about their experience of living with family and friends, contact Paul to take part.
