School can be a tricky time for kinship children, but our recent Growing Up in Kinship Care report found that individual teachers and school counselling services could really help some young people. What you’ve been up to
We’re constantly impressed and inspired by the kinship carers we work with. We know you have hard jobs, and often a serious lack of support. Which is why it’s so nice that two members of our Support Network, who have been involved in our Relative Experience Project in the North East, have been recognised by their local communities, and nominated for The Gateshead Awards. We asked them about their experiences of kinship care, and advice for others in their position.
