Who is this masterclass for?
This one-off masterclass is for any kinship carer living in England who cares for a neurodivergent teenager.
What will be covered?
In this masterclass, you will learn:
- what autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and ADHD are and what they might look like in teenagers
- why sleep and good nutrition are key for neurodivergent teenagers
- which communication techniques are helpful and less helpful with neurodivergent teenagers
- how to support self-advocacy in neurodivergent teenagers
- how to identify and support with personal challenges your teenager might face
- strategies to support your teenager with educational challenges they might face
- general strategies to support your neurodivergent teenager and yourself
How to join the masterclass
This masterclass will be held online using a free platform called Zoom.
You can access Zoom through a desktop computer, laptop, tablet or even your phone. You may need to download Zoom before you join – please factor in time to do that. The best experience will be through a computer or laptop. Watch a video on how to join a Zoom meeting.
To join the workshop, click on the Zoom link in the email we sent you.
Please make sure you:
- join on time – late joiners might not be admitted after 15 minutes
- have a pen/pencil and paper to make notes

Who’s running this masterclass?
This masterclass will be run and facilitated by Suzy Rowland.
About Suzy Rowland
Suzy is an author who delivers training and talks for teachers, school leaders, businesses and also works therapeutically with families. Her goal is to develop informed and sensitive engagement for everyone who parents or works with neurodivergent children, young people and adults. Her living knowledge of autism and ADHD and wide knowledge of the UK education system combines to create a powerful speaker, packed with practicality as well as passion.
