At Kinship, we know how much kinship carers do each day to support and raise children you love. We’re here to help you make connections with other kinship carers and feel more confident to deal with what comes your way.
Our roadshows help you connect with others and get vital information on how to navigate the system and make choices that work for you, so you can get the support your children need and deserve.
This roadshow is open to all kinship carers at any stage of their kinship journey.
A kinship carer is someone who steps in to raise a child when their parents can’t. They’re usually grandparents, aunts or uncles, brothers or sisters and sometimes friends.
We’re excited to announce our Liverpool Roadshow, in partnership with Kinship Carers Liverpool. They work with kinship families across Liverpool, raising awareness of the challenges they face and offering tailored support.
During the roadshow, young people from Liverpool will lead workshops and share their experiences of growing up in kinship families. They will offer valuable insights and discuss important topics, such as how to help your kinship children talk about and understand their life stories, and how to support them on their educational journey.
There will be opportunities to share experiences, in small groups, but there is no pressure to talk if you don’t want to. Just do whatever you’re comfortable with. And if you need to, there will also be plenty of space to take some time out.
