Support groups

Being a kinship carer is hugely rewarding. But it can also be tough. Our peer support groups will help you get the support you need and connect with other kinship carers in your local area.

Find a support group

Stronger together

Our kinship peer support groups offer a safe space to meet with other kinship carers online, or in person, to share experiences and get emotional support.

Sometimes it can feel isolating being a kinship carer, but you are not alone. Wherever you are in England and Wales, there’s a community just for you. A place where you can build friendships and get and give support – through the good times and the tough ones.

"Before I joined this group, nobody really understood what it was like. Your friends, your family, obviously say all the right things. 'Oh, you're very brave. I couldn't do it. It must be really hard for you.' But talking to the group, we learn from each other or we can just listen and we can understand. It's a shoulder to cry on, someone to trust."

Someone Like Me

Our Someone Like Me service offers emotional support over the phone and is run by volunteers who are kinship carers.
