With half term underway or on the horizon for many kinship families, we’ve pulled together some tips with help from our friends at The Big Issue and Which? on which restaurants, cafes, supermarkets and cinemas are offering discounts for families.
With increasing food and energy prices, we know that the cost-of-living is extremely challenging for many kinship families across England and Wales.
This is why we have put together a handy guide for you to treat the kids at a low-cost. Take a look at our suggestions below!
Low-cost cinema and meals for kids: Asda, Cineworld, Bill’s, Bella Italia and more
ZSL: £3 tickets available for purchase in advance online if you are receiving Universal Credit, Pension Credit, Working Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, Employment and Support Allowance, Income Support or Jobseeker’s Allowance.
Ed’s Easy Diner: Free kids meals with any adult meal.
Toby Carvery: Kids eat for £1 with adult main.
Asda Café: Kids eat for £1 all day, every day with no adult spend required until 18 March. Free bowl of porridge available between 8am-12pm.
Cineworld: ‘Movies for Juniors’ screenings cost £2.50 for a child.
Bill’s: Kids eat free at Bill’s all day until February 24 with any adult main.
Bella Italia: Children eat for £1 with any adult main 4-6pm (Monday-Thursday).
IKEA: Kids eat from 95p in IKEA restaurants. Available everyday from 11am.
Morrisons: Kids eat free when an adult spends £4.99 or more on a meal.
Yo! Sushi: Kids eat free with every adult spend.
The Real Greek: Kids eat free every Sunday for every £10 spent by adults.
Odeon: Adults pay kids’ ticket prices at special ‘Odeon Kids’ screenings.
Vue: ‘Mini Mornings’ screenings from 10am during the school holidays. Tickets for both adults and children cost £2.49 each.
M&S Café: Kids eat free when an adult spends £5.
Giraffe: Kids eat for £1 until February 26.
Harvester: Kids eat for £1 every weekday until February 24 with any adult main.
Beefeater and Brewers Fayre: Up to two children under 16 can eat a free breakfast when an adult buys a cooked breakfast for £9.50.
Barbican Kitchen: Children under 10 can get a free kid’s meal at the Barbican Kitchen with every adult meal over £10 purchased. Offer available all year round.
Cafe Rouge: Kids eat for £1 with every adult who purchases a main course.
Dobbies: Kids eat free when an adult purchases a meal, from 12pm.
Dunelm Pausa Café: Kids eat for every £4 spent by adults (Monday to Friday).
Tesco Cafes: Kids eat free when an adult makes a purchase in the café and scans their Clubcard, weekdays only.
