Who is More Than Grandparents
More Than Grandparents is an independent registered charity based in Sunderland. The charity is run by kinship carers for kinship carers and their families. Their weekly peer support sessions provide an opportunity for kinship carers to come together, have a cuppa and a chat with people who have had similar experiences.
As well as their peer support sessions, they offer 1-1 support, therapeutic parenting training, counselling, wellbeing days, recreational activities, practical support, fitness and wellbeing classes, kids after school activities and holiday clubs, toddler groups, special events and a food bank. They offer a warm space for families to meet for mutual support and they can also access a meal to help with the cost of living crisis.
