The Grandparents Plus annual State of the Nation survey helps give us a better picture of what it is like to be a kinship carer and to gather evidence of where more support and understanding is needed for kinship carers and their families. This helps us to develop services to better support kinship carers as well as raise awareness of kinship care in the media and among decision makers like local authorities and the national government.
Kinship carers are often overlooked and under-supported. After the challenges of the past few months, and the difficult times that lie ahead, this must change. That is why this year we would love to hear from you about the impact being a kinship carer has had on you, your family and in the wider community. We want to raise the voice of kinship care to ensure a better understanding of the amazing job you do and to help you get the support you need.
The survey has now closed. We will follow this up with a report soon. Thanks to all who have taken the time to complete the form.
