Fundraise for Kinship

We help kinship carers to get the support and information they need to provide a stable, loving home for the children they care for. But we can’t do it without you.

We are Kinship

We’re here for kinship carers who step up to raise a child when their parents aren’t able to. Often during an unexpected crisis. And in that moment, a commitment is made – to bring love and hope to a child who has experienced trauma. No matter what.

By fundraising for Kinship, you’re helping us to provide advice and support to kinship carers who are caring for more than 141,000 kinship children in England and Wales.

Whether that’s through our Advice Line, our peer support groups, our free workshops or our Someone Like Me service – you’re helping us to connect kinship carers so that they feel empowered, not isolated.

Fundraise for Kinship in 3 easy steps

Decide on what you’ll do to fundraise

Keen baker? Organise a bake sale or a bake-off. Want to challenge yourself? Commit to running a half marathon. Want to get others involved? Organise a pub quiz or a community fair.
The fundraising ideas are endless!

Set up your fundraising page on JustGiving

Head to JustGiving to set up your fundraising page. You will need to register, but it’s quick and easy. Having a JustGiving page makes it simple to collect donations online and share why you’re fundraising for Kinship. And the money you raise is automatically paid to us.

Promote your fundraising

Once you’ve decided on what you’re doing and you’ve set up your JustGiving page, it’s time to spread the word!
You may want to email the link to friends and family, share it on social media or put up posters at work.

Your money can make a difference

Raising money for Kinship can help us be there for kinship carers across England and Wales.

  • 13% of kinship carers said they were concerned about their ability to continue caring for their kinship child or children in the next year

  • More than 141,000 children are in kinship care in England and Wales

  • 1 in 10 kinship carers said their household had run out of food and couldn’t afford to buy more within the last two weeks

The power of your pounds

Every pound and penny you raise will help us to be there for kinship families. Helping to change lives and change the system.

£25

could provide a lifeline to a new kinship carer, offering them personalised one-to-one support from an expert, helping them navigate the complex and emotional journey of caring for a child in need.

£50

could provide a full month of vital materials for our free kinship carer workshops, empowering carers with the tools and knowledge to create a brighter future for the children they love and nurture.

£75

could open the door for a kinship carer to receive life-changing training for a month, giving them the confidence and skills to provide a stable, loving home for vulnerable children.

£100

could cover transport costs for two weeks, enabling our ‘Kinship Young Champions’ to attend support groups and activities where they can find friendship, healing, and hope for their future.
