Advice & Information Service Manager
Our advice team supports nearly 4,000 kinship carers each year with expert advice. We’re looking for an accomplished leader and manager to lead our growing advice and information team. As part of our new three-year strategy (2022-2025), we’re focussing on developing our high quality, user-centred services to support more kinship carers when they need it most.
You’ll be an excellent manager, supporting your team to unlock their potential, develop new skills and pilot new channels of support and information (online chat, legal advice, web content, among others).
Our new Kinship Compass project is about developing clear and easy to access pathways to advice and information and peer support across local kinship communities. As our Advice and Information Manager, you’ll work closely with your team to support this project, taking the lead on developing the advice and information pathway.
We are growing and so is the need for our kinship carers. You’ll be a dynamic, thoughtful leader supporting a passionate and committed team.
You’ll work with our Online Service Innovation Manager to continuously improve the service, embrace digital solutions and create efficiencies and processes to drive performance and increase our ability to provide more support to kinship carers across England and Wales.
Salary: £33,639 – £35,687 per annum (outside of London); £36,865 – £38,913 per annum (inclusive of London weighting) (pro rata)
Working hours: 28 hours (4 days) per week
Location: Home-based or London office-based (Vauxhall)

Project Worker – West Yorkshire (Leeds & Wakefield)
As our project worker you will deliver our Kinship Connected programme providing targeted, in-person one-to-one support to kinship carers and special guardians, as well as developing and supporting in-person and virtual peer support groups across Leeds and Wakefield local authority areas in West Yorkshire. You will deliver a service providing kinship carers with emotional and practical support as well as raising awareness of the work of Kinship.
You will be committed to the work of Kinship and passionate about making a difference to the lives of vulnerable families. You’ll bring excellent relationship building, communication and organisational skills, as well as be able to work on your own initiative and collaboratively with partners. You will have proven experience of working with families, particularly those in more disadvantaged circumstances.
Salary: £23,500 per annum (pro rata)
Working hours: 21 hours (3 days) per week
Location: Local authority-based in West Yorkshire (Leeds & Wakefield) with some home-working
Duration: Contract until end of March 2024

Regional Programmes Manager
As our Regional Programmes Manager, you’ll inspire and lead our team of remote-based Senior Project Workers and Project Workers to effectively deliver high-quality support services for kinship families across the North of England and some parts of the Midlands. You’ll do this by working in close collaboration with local authority teams across the North and the Midlands who have commissioned our services. You’ll also develop effective partnerships with other local authorities to secure commissions and generate income for services.
Your team will deliver the following programmes:
- Kinship Ready – online workshops to prepare new and prospective special guardians for their role, as well as wraparound one-to-one support
- Kinship Reach – remote one-to-one support and virtual support groups
- Kinship Connected – in-person one-to-one support and support groups in the community
Salary: £33,639 – £35,687 per annum
Working hours: Full-time (flexible, working minimum of 28 hours/per week considered – pro rata)
Location: Home-based with travel across the North and Midlands, as well as other parts of England and Wales from time to time.

Senior Fundraising Officer – Trusts and Foundations
We are recruiting a Senior Fundraising Officer – Trusts and Foundations, who will play a key role in our small and successful fundraising team. A confident and capable fundraiser, you will bring vital capacity to this side of our income generation and work closely with the CEO, Senior Leadership Team and fundraising manager.
This is a new position, ideal for a creative and ambitious fundraiser who is seeking a role where there is an opportunity to develop and step-up professionally.
You will join a small fundraising team where from the start you will enjoy real responsibility. In this new role, you will work on a diverse range of funding proposals and have the autonomy to lead on the management of your own portfolio of funders. You will also work alongside senior staff including our CEO and Senior Leadership Team to develop larger, strategically significant proposals.
Although your main focus will be fundraising from Charitable Trusts and Foundations, you will have the chance to broaden your experience by working with the fundraising manager to develop and maintain the fundraising presence on our website and social media. You will also provide administrative support for the team, including keeping up to date records.
- Salary: £28,000 (outside of London); £31,256 (including London weighting)

Chief Operating Officer

We are seeking a values-driven, commercially-minded, strategic and forward-thinking Chief Operating Officer for a pivotal new senior leadership role. Following a five-year period of organisational growth, and at a time of unprecedented interest in kinship care, we’re looking for an inspiring leader with the experience and understanding of what a growing organisation needs to scale successfully as we deliver our new growth and impact strategy for 2022-25.
You will lead on financial and business planning and organisational performance, including the delivery and development of our finance function and systems.

You’ll ensure that all of our people are working with the right values, have the right training, support and systems to deliver high quality work that makes a difference for kinship families

Trustee, Board of Trustees
We are looking for up to four trustees to join the board in guiding our charity’s work, alongside our Chief Executive and the Senior Leadership Team.
We are particularly looking for applicants with the following skills and background:
- Lived experience of kinship care
- Fundraising, marketing and communications or social work experience
- Black, Asian or minority ethnic background
- Based in Wales
While you do not need to have previous Board experience, you should possess a commitment to Kinship’s values and mission, good organisational and communication skills, and an understanding or willingness to learn skills in strategic planning, setting targets and monitoring/evaluating performance.
- Term of Appointment: Initial three-year period, which may be extended for a further three-year period.
- Salary: Trustees are not remunerated, however, any travel expenses directly incurred in the role will be reimbursed.
- Location: Meetings are currently being held on Zoom, but we anticipate moving to a hybrid option with meetings generally held at our offices in Vauxhall, London.
- Period: Four 2-hour meetings a year, plus an away day and any relevant committee meetings.
