As everyone across England is now in another lockdown, with all the worry that brings, please remember that everyone at Grandparents Plus is here for you.
We have heard from many of you about the real challenges you and your families are facing, whether that is being unable to meet family and friends because of restrictions, financial concerns, worries about sending your children to school, and anxieties about your own health.
We are here for you.
We can help with any kinship care related issue.
Our friendly project workers are running virtual support groups where you can meet other kinship carers who understand what you’re going through. They’re also able to support you on a one-to-one basis, either by telephone or online. You can find more information on support groups here.
Our advice service is open as usual. You can contact them via this form or by calling 0300 123 7015, and whilst our advisers are handling an unprecedented number of enquiries at the moment, they will help you as soon as they can.
Please join over 8,000 kinship carers in our 8,000 strong Kinship Community and also join our Facebook community. It’s a great way to connect with other kinship carers and keep up to date with all the news and information about kinship care. Our community of kinship families has always been strong – offering support to each other when times are tough in uncertain times. Thank you for supporting each other.
As always, we will continue to push for more support for kinship carers during this incredibly difficult time.
If any of you would like to share your experiences of lockdown we would love to hear from you, and it may help other kinship carers to hear they are not alone.
We will get through this. Stay safe, and we look forward to being with you again soon.
